Milngavie to Drymen- At speed

12 miles in 3.5 hours! It said in the guide that this first day was the easy southern section. A flat level route through Mugdock Country Park, picking up the disused Glasgow to Aberfoyle railway line made for a pleasant day with perfect weather. On the way, met an Oncologist from Bristol. We chatted for a while & stopped for a coffee at Dumgoyne. Unlike me,he was organized having arranged all his accommodation, complete with bag carrying service. The last stretch along the road to Drymen was tedious & uneventful. Drymen, however, was a delight. Cafe's, gift shops, three pubs and even a cute little library. (Unfortunately closed) Gavin would have loved it!
Back in Glasgow by early afternoon I went shopping for food for the flat while waiting for Jane to arrive at Central Station
